In Beaver Meadows, Pennsylvania, Officer Steven Homanko is facing multiple charges after taking the life of an innocent 69 year-old woman while speeding at over 110 miles per hour.

According to the 26 year-old officer, the chase began when he observed another vehicle driving in an illegal manner. Apparently Officer Homanko felt that issuing a speeding ticket was so important that he began following the other driver at an unbelievable 113 miles per hour to stop the driver.

While chasing the other driver, Officer Homanko slammed into a car occupied by Carola Sauers and her husband, Michael Sauers, killing the innocent 69-year-old Ms. Sauers and critically injuring her husband.

Officer Homanko has been charged with aggravated assault by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and careless driving. He is out on $100,000 bail and is on administrative leave. Carola Sauers was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
